Nancy works similar to the way the women worked at the Rockwood and Newcomb Potteries. The architectural nature and size of the individual elements combine to create one-of-a-kind pieces. She scouts the countryside for Virgins Bower, Wild Holly, Bee Balm and other assorted native botanicals. Glazes, underglazes, metallics and overglazes require separate firings, and are detailed, delicate and time consuming. Whether a vase is used as a dramatic centerpiece, wired to be a lamp, or placed alone on a mantle or shelf – Nancy’s unique work always commands interest.
